Piggy was originally going to have just a tiny set of features, and that was what excited me about it. It was built to help you stay under budget, and that was its sole purpose. No expenses management, no categories, nothing. Just a budget, and payments. I loved that.
The basic prototype was built out, and I showed it to a couple of my friends, and they thought that the features were too minimal. So I set out to add more. A history view, categories, you name it.
But as the product became more complex, I started loving it less and less. This wasn’t what I wanted to make, and it wasn’t the tool I myself needed. So yesterday, I completely took out the extra parts that I had added, and Piggy’s back to its initial, simple state. It’s the Piggy I love, and it’s an app that, although simple (or actually, because of that), I’m super proud of.
So, the app’s almost done. I’m going to be sending it out to some beta testers soon, as I polish the app into its final state. I’m excited about it again, and I hope people love it for the same reasons I do.
